FUN FACT: Did you know that the annual Academy Awards actually has 25 categories?
The 25th category, Best Original Musical (formerly known as “Best Original Song Score and Adaptation Score” and “Best Original Song Score”), exists but hasn’t been “activated” since 1984. This means that in a given year the Academy has not found enough eligible musical movies to qualify the category.
